Description
Green Sencha is Japan’s most popular green tea, packed with antioxidants, and with a light, delicate and herbal flavor. The preparation of Sencha requires tea leaves to be steamed before being dried and rolled, therefore making them immune to oxidation. This process makes it so the tea retains the slight natural bitterness of the green tea leaf, giving the infusion a vegetal aroma and flavor with hints of slight saltiness. Because of this, Sencha needs to be steeped at a lower temperature and for a shorter time than most other teas, to prevent the brew to become overly astringent. USDA-certified organic, naturally vegan and gluten-free, contains caffeine.
Steep 1 tsp of green Sencha per each 8 oz of water at 160 – 180 °F for up to 3 minutes.
Available in 1 and 3 ounces.
