Description

Coriander is one of the world oldest spices, and its use can be traced back to many ancient societies around the world. It is highly aromatic, with earthy and herbaceous flavor notes and hints of citrus peel and sage. Very versatile, this spice is widely used in a lot of traditional Eastern, Southern Mediterranean, and Latin-American dishes. The whole seeds are mainly used for pickling mixes and sweet relishes, but they can also be crushed and subsequently used in any recipe that requires ground coriander, from curries to chili to sausages, as the aromatics decline faster once the seed it has been ground. In Indian cuisine, whole coriander and cumin seeds are oftentimes sauteed in ghee or oil and ground in a mortar and pestle to maximize the aroma and form the flavor base of curry. Naturally vegan and gluten-free.
