Chipotle peppers are jalapeno peppers that have been ripened, dried and smoked. Milder than fresh jalapenos, they have a distinct smoky flavor that makes them ideal to incorporate into barbecue, since they amplify the flavor of smoked meat and adds a slight earthy spiciness to sauces. In this seasoning, granulated honey has been added to complement the rich spiciness of the chiles with a light, natural sweetness. The resulting spicy-sweet combination is excellent as a dry rub for BBQ or mixed into homemade barbeque sauces and marinades, to add a Mexican flair to this quintessential American tradition. Naturally vegetarian and gluten free. Non suited for a vegan diet (contains granulated honey).
