Description
Chervil is an annual herb similar to parsley in appearance, but with a more delicate, lace-like leaf structure and slight anise aroma. It is a staple in French cuisine and is often called “the gourmet’s parsley”. It’s also often being combined with tarragon, parsley, and chives, a combo traditionally referred to as “French fines herbes”. By itself, chervil is often added to salads, sauces, and vinaigrettes, and traditionally paired with salmon, trout, potatoes, spinach, asparagus and green beans. It is best to add chervil just before a dish is removed from the heat or just after, since its delicate nature won’t stand up well to long cooking times. Naturally vegan and gluten-free. Grown in Claremont, NH.
