Tellicherry peppercorns are top-grade variety of black peppercorns, selected for maturity and weight. Only around 10% of the pepper nigrum crop from India is labeled as Tellicherry grade, and only the biggest and most mature make the cut. A product of India, Tellicherry pepper is a high quality pepper which is very enjoyable both ground and whole, and has a naturally bolder flavor than most peppercorns on the market. We recommend grinding it fresh at the table to maximize its bold flavor notes. It’s also a great choice for recipes in which pepper is one of the main spices used, such as boiled dinners or steak au poivre.
