Description

Black pepper is the second most used spice in the world after salt, and is a fundamental ingredient in all cuisines around the world. The history of this spice goes back millennia – it was found by archaeologists stuffed in mummies’ nostrils – , and it was once so valuable that a king’s ransom could to be paid in peppercorns! Coarsely ground high quality Indonesian Lampong peppercorns make up this butcher cut ground pepper, a fundamental component for food preparation and table use. Lampong peppercorns are picked immediately after they ripen, and because they are not allowed to mature on the vine they are slightly smaller, but carry more sharpness and heat compared to other varieties. Butcher cut pepper is ideal if you prefer a coarser grind, with bigger specks than most commercially available pepper. Also great for dry rubs, as the coarseness of the pepper makes it easier for it to stick to the meat. Naturally vegan and gluten-free.
